SWIRE PROJECTS DELIVERS WIND TURBINE COMPONENTS FOR IWAIZUMI WIND FARM

19 September 2024 – Swire Projects has achieved another successful shipment of wind turbine components for one of the world’s leading wind energy companies. The cargo, consisting of 12 sets of wind towers and 12 sets of nacelles, hubs, and drive trains, was loaded onto Swire Projects’ H-Class vessel, Pacific Humility (28,500 DWT, 3x80t), in Tianjin and Taicang, China.

By optimising stowage capacity, we ensured that all cargo was loaded and shipped in a single voyage. Careful planning and execution were necessary to ensure safety and efficiency of the entire process. The wind towers were securely stowed and seafastened on deck with the remaining components safely stored in the holds.

These essential wind energy components were safely transported to Miyako for the Iwaizumi Wind Farm in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. This wind farm will feature 12 units of V117-4.2 MW wind turbines, significantly enhancing the region’s renewable energy capacity and contributing to a more sustainable future.

Swire Projects is proud to play a pivotal role in this milestone, ensuring the safe and efficient shipment of these vital components for renewable energy projects. This shipment highlights our expertise in transporting renewable energy equipment and reinforces our commitment to supporting this sector and advancing global sustainability efforts.
