Unlocking the opportunities in Western Australia
Held on 25 to 26 June at the Red Earth Arts Precinct in Karratha, Western Australia, Pilbara Summit 2025 brought together key stakeholders including industry leaders, government representatives, and investors across the region’s diverse industries, including mining, energy, infrastructure, and logistics. This year’s summit theme was “Unlocking the opportunities” which focused on the Pilbara region’s evolving role as a powerhouse of economic development, sustainability, and innovation.
Swire Projects exhibited at the Pilbara Summit, with Gregor Cetinski (Senior Chartering Manager) and Zhangmin Cheng (Assistant Marketing & Tenders Manager) representing the team. With over 40 exhibitors and hundreds of attendees, this event proved to be a great platform for networking, shared learning, and strategic dialogue. Spanning two dynamic days, the conference and panel discussions spotlighted key themes shaping Western Australia’s future – the future of clean energy, industrial decarbonisation, and regional development across Western Australia.
Exploring Opportunities and Showcasing Capabilities
We had the opportunity to engage with many stakeholders across the mining, material handling, energy, and logistics sectors and discuss several upcoming projects and how Swire Projects’ shipping services and project cargo solutions can support the region’s development. Additionally, we had the opportunity to continue to raise our brand awareness in the region and showcase our Western Australia Express (WAX) service.
Networking Evening in a Scenic Setting
The summit was not just about presentations, attendees participated in dedicated networking breaks including an evening drinks session held outdoors. With a beautiful sunset backdrop and crisp Karratha weather, attendees mingled over refreshments, exchanging ideas and conversations.

Our journey in Australia concluded on a high note with the vibrant and well-attended Perth Logistics Bash, a dynamic networking event held in the heart of Perth. We were joined by Namir Khanbabi (General Manager), as we connected with a diverse group of professionals from across the logistics and maritime sectors, including freight forwarders and shipping companies.
