SWIRE PROJECTS DELIVERS CRITIAL RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPONENTS TO SUPPORT POWER NEEDS OF WESTERN AUSTALIA’S GOLD MINE

Swire Projects has contributed to a significant milestone at the Bellevue Gold Project in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields with the successful delivery of four GW165/6.0MW Goldwind wind turbines to Zenith Energy’s off-grid power station. In collaboration with Sky Fusion, a specialised logistics and supply chain solutions provider, we are proud to have facilitated the transportation of these essential components from Yangzhou, China to Geraldton, Western Australia aboard our multipurpose H Class vessel, Pacific Humility.

The successful delivery of the wind turbines marks a major advancement in the construction of a 90MW high-fraction renewable hybrid power solution.   The 24 MW wind farm is set to be a key contributor to this off-grid facility, aiming to meet up to 80% of the project's power demand through renewable energy. The power station will utilise a combination of wind and solar generation, thermal generation, and battery storage, making it a pioneering model of sustainable energy solutions in the region.

This significant delivery showcases our commitment to supporting sustainable energy projects globally. The success was made possible by our team’s expertise in handling large and complex renewable energy cargoes. Combining this with our vessel’s specifications and crew’s dedication the loading and discharge were completed efficiently. For stowage optimisation, the wind blades were meticulously stacked in three tiers, with the other wind components such as towers, generators, hubs and nacelles stowed in the holds.

Swire Projects is committed to supporting such transformative efforts, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future. To learn more of our renewable energy shipment capabilities, you can read about another successful wind shipment delivery from Tianjin and Taicang, China, to Miyako, Japan.
